Reading is Fundamental

As many of you may have heard, President Barack Obama is going to address something like 6 school children the Tuesday after Labor Day.

Apparently the number is going to be so small because many parents are getting all worked up about our president indoctrinating their children and are planning on keeping their kids out of school that day.

Incredible. The president is going to say work hard, stay in school, and get good grades. If that is indoctrination, I think I am for it. As I see it, too many kids, and parents too, by their actions, do not believe these are worthy exploits.

Maybe that explains why education in the US is falling behind the world in many catagories.

Perhaps we should return to a simpler time when instead of indoctrinating our children, our presidents just took a quaint little book and read to the kids.

Update

Here is the text of President Obama's speech to our nations school children.

Kids listen to Marxist indoctrination from dysfunctional parents grandparents and other mentors.Take copious amounts of hard drugs while avoiding any personal responsibility.Find some wealthy radicals that can mentor you and give you sinecures aplenty.Fill yourselves with hubris and an undeserved sense of accomplishment and privilege.Cover your past paper trails and all, succeed at nothing, then claim your right to dictate to others how to live.If so blessed play whatever victim card you have ,halfrican will do. Oh and be sure to rail against your country for sins real or perceived and never waver from your myopic self abortion. In summation be a worthless,"boutique educated",crack smoking lay around and them maybe you too can run for President.

Ted, it's good to see you are back from the dead.

Maybe you should have stayed late in school for the Indoctrination 201 class.

Perhaps then you would be able to write a cogent paragraph.

I had to delete that same exact rant on my blog...

Yeah, he showed up at TAO also. I am surprised he missed Shaw.

I think I saw it there, too. As well as a few rightie blogs...

Or you could move your family to the end of the world on the Washington Coast where they don't have the money for the technology to air the president's speech to the school children.

Of course the speech, which I did read the night before, would be much needed in our community.

I believe that is a popular faked photo of Bush.
