West Coast Brillance
The Ducks have won the Stanley Cup. Yep, you heard that right. The Ducks. Sorry Canada. Sorry Chicago, Boston, Philly, Jersey, New York and even Edmonton. Right now the center of the Hockey Universe is in Anaheim, California. Right down the street from Disneyland. Helene Elliott, Hockey Hall of Fame writer for the Los Angeles Times wrote a great commentary. It is a must read for any hockey fan. For those of you who don't like hockey, go to a game. If you like sports, you'll love hockey, live. It sucks on television, but when you see it in person, you'll see what I mean. The coolness of the arena, the speed of the players, the grace, strength, and the sheer tenseness of a close game in the third period are hard to beat. Trust me. So to the Ducks, congratulations on being the first team from out west to ever win Lord Stanley's Cup! You earned it. technorati tags: Anaheim Ducks, NHL Hockey, Stanley Cup Labels: Anaheim Ducks, Hockey, NHL, Stanley Cup |
